In Creative Harmony: Three Artistic Partnerships

2025

This catalogue accompanies In Creative Harmony: Three Artistic Partnerships, an exhibition that explored the ways artists inspire each other by highlighting the relationships between three pairs of artists. Each section of this three-part exhibition was organized by a different Blanton curator. Claire Howard’s essay contextualizes the creative trajectories of friends and innovators in abstract painting and sculpture Arshile Gorky and Isamu Noguchi. Vanessa Davidson writes on the legacies of satire and celebration that visually and conceptually unite Mexican printmakers José Guadalupe Posada and Artemio Rodríguez, resonating across 100 years. Interviewed by Hannah Klemm, mother-daughter artists Nora Naranjo Morse and Eliza Naranjo Morse discuss their familial and ancestral legacy, the materiality of their community, and the power of creativity to transform our collective future and relationship to the Earth.
